1. Who can apply for SSC-JE exam?

All candidates with Diploma in engineering & engineering graduates are eligible to apply for SSC JE exams.

2. Which engineering branch is allowed into SSC-JE exams?
Candidates having diploma/degree in Civil, Mechanical & Electrical can apply.

3. What is approximate vacancy per year in SSC-JE exam?
In SSC–JE approximately 1000 vacancies are expected each year. These vacancies are subject to change.

4. What is the age limit for General category into SSC-JE post?

For General category, age limit vary as per department allocations through SSC-JE exams.

upto 32 years ( CWC, CPWD ).
18-27 years (Department of Post ).
18-27 years ( MES-Military engineering services ).

5. How to calculate my AGE for SSC-JE ?

You can calculate your AGE as per your Matriculation/Secondary Examination / equivalent certificate only.
Calculate your age as on 1st August 2015 ( for SSC-JE 2015 exams), similarly 1st August of coming years of exams

6. Is it good to apply for all the posts?

No, you can apply for the post in which you fulfill educational qualification and age eligibility.

7. Which DIPLOMA degree is valid to apply SSC-JE exam?
Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government. Diploma degree from Private or govt. Institutions are valid. Correspondence Diploma certificates are also valid from recognized institutions.Diploma Equivalent courses done by EX Servicemen from Armed forces are also valid to apply for SSC-JE.

8. Does candidates with lateral entries are eligible?

Candidates with lateral entries after 10+2 are eligible as they have same Diploma degree as others.

9. How to apply for SSC-JE examination?

You can apply ONLINE only through SSC official portals

10. Which Group class of employment SSC-JE offers?

SSC-JE offers post of Junior Engineer being a Group ‘B’ post.

11. Is there any negative marking in Conventional type papers?

No there is no NEGATIVE marking in conventional answer sheet of SSC-JE exam.

12. Do i prepare GATE or other exams in parallel with JE preparations?

If you have 4year degree then you may prepare other exam in parallel. But pattern of SSC-JE paper is very different than GATE or IES.Few more FAQ related to SSC-JE 2016-17 will be added soon.
